Abstract
This study aims to develop interactive learning multimedia of English for Year VII Science Teachers to facilitate the science teachers in learning English.This study belongs to research and development. It was conducted in SMP N 8 Yogyakarta, SMP N 1 Bantul, and SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Yogyakarta. The data were collected through interview and questionnaire. The research procedure was adopted from the model proposed by Lee and Owens (2004). The research procedure consists of analysis (needs analysis), design, development, implementation or try-out, and evaluation. The analysis (needs analysis) phase concerns the collection of data on the teachers’ characteristics and needs, and analysing the materials. The design phase deals with designing the diagram of the interactive learning multimedia. The development phase concerns the development of the first draft of the interactive learning multimedia, asking content and multimedia experts to judge and validate it. The implementation phase deals with trying-out the interactive learning multimedia to four teachers. The evaluation phase is where the interactive learning multimedia is evaluated through the feedback from the teachers. Based on the data analysis, the results of the research show that the suitable interactive learning multimedia design of Interactive Learning Multimedia of ‘Year VII for Science Teachers’ has some components/features i.e. home, user guide, unit description, spoken cycle, written cycle, assessment, summary, and glossary. The design is considered to be appropriate for the teachers based on the questionnaire and interview data.
