Abstract
This study aims to: (1) develop a Hand Puppet Book media highlight recycling that is suitable to improve the creating skills and creative character of 5th grade students of elementary schools in Godean District, and (2) determine the effectiveness of the developed media in improving creating skills and creative character of 5th grade students of elementary schools in Godean District. The research method used research and development with 10 stages from Borg & Gall model. The subjects were students of 5th grade elementary school in Godean District. Data collection in the preliminary study used interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Product feasibility was determined through product validation which carried out by content experts and media experts, as well as teacher and student responses. Product effectiveness was determined through the pre-test and post-test in operational field testing. The data analysis technique used the normality test and homogenity test, independent sample t-test, and MANOVA with a significance level of 0.05. The results show that a Hand Puppet Book media highlight recycling meets the eligibility criteria based on the validation results from content experts and media experts as well as teacher and student responses with "very feasible" category. The significant score of the independent sample t-test for both the creating skills and creative character is 0.049. The significance score obtained is <0.05, which means that there is an influence on the creating skills and creative character. The MANOVA test results show a significance score of 0.011 <0.05, which means that simultaneously there is an significant effect towards students’ creating skills and the creative characte
