Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out the basic needs in developing animated video media based on modeling techniques to improve understanding of social ethics in teenagers with intellectual disabilities, (2) produce social ethics animation video media based on appropriate modeling techniques and (3) produce animated videos based on effective modeling techniques for teenagers with intellectual disabilities. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The subjects in this study were seven teenagers with mild intellectual disability with two adolescents as test subjects and five teenagers as test subjects for effectiveness. The data collection techniques used were interviews, expert validation questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, and tests of understanding social ethics. The data analysis used is descriptive quantitative which is presented in graphic form. The effectiveness test was carried out by comparing the post-test and pre-test scores and there were at least 75% of teenagers with intellectual disabilities who achieved the KKM score after using an animated video based on modeling techniques. The results of the study are as follows: (1) the need for developing animated video media in teaching understanding of social ethics to teenagers with intellectual disabilities requires animated video displays with bright colors, more movements that display the behavior and content of stories related to cases that occur in teenagers with intellectual disabilities in general. related to social ethics. (2) the application of modeling techniques in animated video media emphasizes the four stages of modeling techniques, namely attention, retention, reproduction, and motivation. The results of product feasibility based on the assessment of material experts obtained an average value of 4.32 in the "Very Good" category, media experts obtained an average value of 4.47 in the "Very Good" category and the teacher's assessment results obtained an average value of 4.84 in the "Very Good" category. ". (3) Animated video media based on modeling techniques is effective to improve understanding of social ethics for teenagers with intellectual disabilities with an increase score of 41% and the understanding test scores of teenagers with intellectual disabilities show more than 75% achieving the KKM score.
