Abstract

This study aims are to: 1) determine the level of elementary school teachers‟ self-efficacy of thematic-integrative learning in Purbalingga District; and 2) describe the differences in the efforts of elementary school teachers who have high and low self-efficacy of thematic-integrative learning in Purbalingga Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with embedded design. The subjects of quantitative research were 198 elementary school teachers in Purbalingga Regency and the source of qualitative research data were lementary school teachers who had high and low self-efficacy in thematic-integrative learning in Purbalingga District. Quantitative data collection techniques use the Teachers’ Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES), while qualitative data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. Quantitative research instruments are instruments adapted from the Teachers' Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES) with a reliability of .977. Qualitative research instruments are interview guides, checklist lists, and documentation guidelines. After the data is obtained, quantitative data are analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program 23 to find percentile and mean values. Furthermore, qualitative research data were analyzed using Miles, Huberman & Saldana data analysis, in the form of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing / verification. The results showed: 1) self-efficacy of elementary school teachers of thematic-integrative learning in Purbalingga District showed moderate category; and 2) Elementary teachers who have higher self-efficacy of thematic-integrative learning in Purbalingga District show more teacher-student interaction efforts in student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management compared to elementary teachers who have lower self-efficacy. While elementary school teachers who have lower self-efficacy show teacher-parent interaction efforts on several indicators: student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management. Research suggestions are addressed to universities providing elementary school teacher education programs, the government, elementary schools in Purbalingga Regency, teachers in Purbalingga District, and for further research.
