Abstract

This study aims to: (1) develop an Android-based career guidance multimedia suitable for use by students, (2) reveal the effectiveness of the develop multimedia in improving career exploration of grade X students of SMAN 2 Malang. This development research adapted the Alessi & Trollip development model with the development flow consisting of three stages, namely the planning stage, the design stage, and the development stage. Every stage in this research process carried out an ongoing evaluation or evaluation of each stage. The product testing phase used the Alpha test, namely the validation process by on material expert and one media expert, and the the product revision. The beta test phase incoleved one guidance and counseling teacher and five students followed by revision. The program validation stage was divided into two, namely the user response test that involved 30 students and effectiveness test conducted by 60 students. The instruments used in each test included the material validation questionnaire, media validation questionnaire, beta test questionnaire, user response questionnaire, and career exploration scale. The data analysis used the quantitative descriptive analysis, gain score, and t-test. The results are as follows. (1) The developed Android-based career guidance multimedia is worthy for students’ use based on Alpha test results, Beta tests, and user response tests with the mean score of 3,64 or in a very worthy category. (2) The develop multimedia is effective in improving career exploration of students, in terms of the gain score analysis results of the experimental group, with a score of 0,456 (moderate) and the control group 0,134 (low) and viewed from the results of the t-test analysis sig 0,000 < 0,05, wich show there is a significant difference in the avarage value of career exploration of the experimental group and that of the control group.
