Abstract

This study aimed at describing the process of applying the model of integrating peer-teacher corrective feedback in order to improve writing instruction in STKIP Nusa Bunga Floresta - Nagekeo. The study was a qualitative research which using a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The study was conducted in STKIP Nusa Bunga Floresta - Nagekeo and the participants of the study were the second semester students of English Study Program. They consisted of six students. The study employed four data collection techniques, namely: observations, interviews, field notes, and writing tests. The process of the study embraced preliminary reflection, planning, actions, observations, and reflections. The research was guided by several prominent previous studies under the issues of corrective feedback. It was conducted within two cycles. The result of the study indicated that the process of the implementation of peer-teacher corrective feedback 1) facilitated the students to be independent learners, 2) enhanced the students’ senses of community responsibility and social caring, 3) raised the students' awareness that the environment could be one of the learning resources, and 4) raised the students’ curiosity to learn. The result of the study also found that the students achieved their learning experiences. They were triggered to employ vocabularies and tenses in appropriate context. They learned how to organize idea in an appropriate order and logic. All of those inputs contributed to improve the writing instruction in STKIP Nusa Bunga Floresta- Nagekeo.
