Abstract
Pre-vocational courses established as education especially designed to be preparatory for vocational education and training (VET). Contents of pre-vocational education vary by level of education. Pre-vocational implemented on the primary education to support vocationalisation process of the vocational education. Prevocational subjects are general to build students' appreciation of the work life. At the elementary school level students began to be introduced how to identify the work, recognizing talent and interest in, the types of vocational skills program so that after graduating from secondary school can choose the right vocational skills program. Competencies that are taught include fundamental skills, generic work skills, and key competency. Fundamental skills can cover: (i) basic skills i.e. listening skill, reading skill, writing skill, speaking skill, and math; (ii) personal qualities i.e. responsibility, integrity, moral, and character. Generic work skill covered how to used resources, use technology, relate to others, and work on teams. Pre-vocational learning should pay attention aktive learning and contectual learning.
