Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop appropriate reading learning materials for Year XI students of Computer Engineering and Networking department at SMKN 1 Sedayu. The research development study adapted the R & D model proposed by Jolly and Bolitho in Tomlinson (1998). The steps of the research were conducting a needs analysis, developing the course grid, developing the first draft of the materials, evaluating the materials by an expert, and writing the final draft of the materials. The instruments to collect data were needs analysis questionnaire and expert judgment questionnaire in the form of Likert Scale. The data obtained from need analysis and expert judgment were analyzed quantitatively through descriptive statistics. This research developed three units of materials. Based on the findings from the expert judgment, the materials are categorized appropriate. The mean score of all aspects of three developed units is 3.76 which is categorized as “Very Good”.
