Abstract

Abstract Measuring the reading, writing, and mathematic skills (AUPK) at primary school level are not yet available in Indonesia. These conditions need measurement developing. Measurement developing can describe the basic skills that must be mastered by students, namely reading, writing, and mathematics. Therefore, teachers need to obtain a comprehensive explanation and knowledge about the application of the rank gauge skills, especially reading, writing, and mathematics, which has been developed based on scientific research. Some activities are planned to achieve these objectives for primary schools, especially third and sixth grade. They had never develop a measurement to describe the profile of basic skills in the form of ribbons skills. They need measurement through research grant competition for two years (Zuchdi, et al., 2001-2002). Thus, the purpose of this study was to train teachers of primary schools using the rankings measurement for students reading, writing, and mathematics skills at third and sixth grade elementary school. Innovative PPM implementation is held in three stages. The first phase is the workshop. The second phase is implementation AUPK in school. The third stage is evaluation of AUPK application at school. The AUPK workshop for teachers of sixth and third grade Municipality of Yogyakarta and Sleman District includes schools with UAN results categories low, medium, and high, 2 people from each school (2 x 21 schools = 42 persons) held on August 28, 2009 LPM at the courtroom UNY. The second phase is the application of AUPK reading, writing, and mathematics in schools. This activity was held on 29 August to 3 September 2009 by third and sixth teacher in their respective schools. Before applying, at the workshop, the teachers had received an explanation of AUPK implementation in schools, as well as the sharing of techniques performed AUPK application that best fit the school situation. The third phase is the evaluation of application results at school. This activity was held on September 4, 2009 in LPM’s hall of Yogyakarta State University. The activity consisted of the delivery and discussion of results AUPK application. The third phase of activities is the evaluation of AUPK application at school. This activity provides a number of benefits for teachers. First, primary school teachers may be familiar with the development of measuring instrument that can reveal the functional competence of reading, writing, and mathematics. Second, primary school teachers can use the gauge basic skills reading, writing, and mathematics. Third, primary school teachers can learn skills bands reading, writing, and mathematics students.
