Abstract

This research has a purpose to develop learning media of coloring book for early childhood as a medium that can provide such understanding about football for kids in early age. This research was categorized as research and development (R & D). This research was carried out in several steps, namely: identification of potential and problems, information collection, product design, product manufacturing, validation expert, product revision, testing, final production. The development of instructional media coloring book was validated by expert of content and media expert beforehand. The product testing is carried out on 5 students to do one-on-one skill for football, 10 students for small group trial, 20 students for field trials. The subjects were students of Mutiara Hati ECD Sleman, Yogyakarta and SSO Real Madrid UNY. The data collection techniques that were used in this study were a questionnaire instrument. The data analysis technique was descriptive qualitative research through percentages. The results show that the coloring book provides an understanding of the basic techniques of football for early childhood and it is feasible. The results are obtained from the validation of a) experts of matter for about 83.33% or categorized as Worth; b) a media expert for about 80.91% or Worth; c) students’ response for field trials in terms of material for about 90.25% or Worth enough, in terms of the design of the book by 91.5% or Worthy, and a maximum score of 90.87% or Worth. Thus, it draws the conclusion that the coloring book has been declared fit enough to introduce and give some understanding on the basic techniques of football to early childhood.
