Abstract

This study uses a qualitative phenomenological research approach to describe all existing symptoms or circumstances. The subjects of this study amounted to 21 respondents consisting of 3 principals and 18 teachers who were in SD Negeri 1 Paseban, SD Negeri 1 Jotangan and SD Negeri 2 Wiro, Bayat District, Klaten Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, interviews and documentation studies. The data analysis technique was carried out using an interactive model from Miles, Huberman & Saldana, namely data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verification. The data validity technique used in this research is source and method triangulation. The results of this study indicate the pattern of implementation of academic supervision during the COVID-19 pandemic are as follows: (a) planning is carried out by formulating the objectives of academic supervision, determining the implementation schedule, determining aspects supervised and determine the instrument, (b) the implementation of academic supervision is carried out by observing the learning process directly, individual meetings and portfolio supervision carried out at the beginning and end of the semester, (c) evaluation is carried out to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the teacher in the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic, and (d) follow-up includes coaching and guidance activities, including guidance on making learning devices, IT training and online learning media, as well as guidance to teachers regarding the use of learning methods during the COVID-19 pandemic. . Factors that hinder the implementation of academic supervision of the COVID-19 pandemic are as follows: (a) lack of readiness of teachers in preparing administration/learning tools, (b) lack of understanding of IT owned by teachers, (c) the principal does not have a partner or senior teacher who can help formulate an academic supervision program, (d) the implementation of supervision is not according to the specified schedule, (e) the principal is still given the mandate to be a principal in another elementary school, and (f) principals cannot carry out full-time.
