Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) planning, (2) organizing, (3) implementation, and (4) evaluation of Management of Live in Character Education Strengthening Program at Senior High School 1 Magelang City. This research uses a descriptive approach with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were the principal, the head of the PPK team, and the coordinator of the OSIS and MPK committees. The research location is in SMAN 1 Magelang City. This data collection technique uses interviews, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Huberman techniques. The data validity test by source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results showed that the character education strengthening program in live-in activities: (1) The planning stage includes the stage of setting goals, strategies and methods, character values to be instilled, understanding to students, facilities & infrastructure, and also funding. This program is based on culture and society which includes multicultural education learning. (2) The organizing stage includes collaboration between the PPK team and the OSIS administrators, the functions of the Student Council and the Class Representative Council in the committee, and there is also a coordination flow between the committee, school principals, village officials, and parents. (3) The implementation phase, the PPK team uses the learning by doing method. The goal is that students can immediately learn, infuse, as well as practicing character values in community situations that have been studied previously. (4) Evaluation of technical constraints in village also regarding the flow of funding from students who are less firm, resulting in delays in collecting funds. Program evaluation does not yet have a standardized and structured form of an evaluation system.
