Abstract
This research aims to 1) produce a badminton leadership model. This model will be suitable to be applied in the leadership of student organizations and leadership in higher education Institutions for Sports Education Personnel. 2) knowing the level of feasibility of the badminton leadership model at the Sports Education Personnel Educational Institution, 3) knowing the practicality of the badminton leadership model at the Sports Education Personnel Educational Institution, 4) knowing the effectiveness of the badminton leadership model at the Sports Education Personnel Educational Institution. This research uses the type of research and development (research and development) model Borg and Gall. The subjects of this study were principals, heads of departments and deans of sports faculties, practitioners and experts from universities of UPI Bandung, UNMUL Kaltim, UNS Surakarta, UNM Malang, UGM and UNY Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques were carried out with interviews, observation documentation, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively (destkiptif statistics). The validity of the data is done by triangulation and extension of observations. The results of the research are 1) the badminton leadership model produced in the form of: knowing territory, limits of authority, cooperation, obeying regulations, keeping secrets, depth of knowledge, elegant decisions, obeying superiors, acting with heart, and wisely. Equipped with a model guide in the form of a badminton leadership video. 2) The badminton leadership model is very suitable for leadership in universities. 3) The badminton leadership model is very practical to use for student organizations. 4) The badminton leadership model was very effectively used in the Student Organization group, there was a significant increase in pre-test and post-test (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Components of badminton leadership as a manager include aspects of planning, organizing, acting and controlling. The components in planning are: knowing the territory, understanding the limits of authority, keeping secrets, being able to make elegant decisions. The organizing aspect includes the following components: obedient and loyal to superiors, obedient to the rules, direction from the heart. On the Action aspect includes components: create a network and be wise. The control aspect consists of one component, namely having scientific depth.
