Abstract
This study aims to describe the strategy of kindergarten and elementary school supervision by school supervisor Ministry of Religion Bantul Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive data analysis techniques. The subjects of this study is school supervisors of the Ministry of Religion, Bantul Regency. The data obtained from interviews, observations, and documents. The validity measured by using source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques use Creswell analysis. The results show that: (1) Aspects of the strategies of the supervision program preparation, include strategies of problem identification, needs analysis, formulation of the objectives of the supervision program, and strategies of supervisory schedule preparation. (2) Aspects of strategies of implementing a monitoring program. Supervisor determine supervision strategy according to the conditions and using individual supervision and group supervision techniques. (3) Aspect of strategies of the supervision program results evaluation. School supervisors analyze the results of program implementation, and then evaluates them to determine follow-up actions. School supervisors compile supervisory reports every school year. (4) Aspects of strategies of professional guidance and training of teachers and school principals. Supervisors play a role in the process of coaching, mentoring, and training teachers and school principals. (5) Aspects of problems in supervision include the constraints on the number of assisted schools, the constraints on the number of personnel, and the distance between the assisted schools. (6) Aspects of problem solving strategies. Primary school supervisors implement a priority scale strategy of tasks and problems, maximize the use of communication via WhatsApp and email, take the time to meet assisted schools even outside office working hours, and close-up assisted school grouping.
