Abstract

This research study aims to: 1) describe the right steps for developing mobile learning products to improve understanding of the concept of Indonesian spelling material 2) produce mobile learning products on Indonesian spelling materials for the student level, 3) describe the level of product quality validity based on material expert validation, media experts and users 4) describe the level of product effectiveness through the completeness of student learning outcomes after using e-Language mobile learning products at Suryakancana University, Cianjur. This development research adapted to the stages of the Alessi & Trollip development model consisting of three stages, namely 1) planning, 2) design, and 3) development. At the planning and design stages, the researcher conducted a needs analysis and periodic evaluation process to produce an initial product. After the initial product was designed then continued in the development stage for the validation process by material and media experts (alpha test), and product revision. The next stage was the beta 1 test process carried out by 5 potential users, and the beta 2 test conducted by 30 students as product users. After the beta 2 test was completed, the process of testing the effectiveness of students' cognitive abilities using e-Language mobile learning products implemented on 30 samples from various faculties at Suryakancana University Cianjur The results of this study indicate that: (1) e-Language mobile learning products on Indonesian spelling materials developed through UNITYhub software can be installed and operated smoothly on Android smartphone devices with very feasible criteria as learning media based on the results of the validation of media experts and experts material, and user responses with an average score of 3.57 {very feasible category} (2) the effectiveness of the product is proven through an analysis of the differences in the results of the initial and final tests between before and after using e-Language mobile learning products and has proven to be quite effective on students' understanding of Indonesian spelling material.
