Abstract

This ex-post facto study aims to: 1) Influence the effect of TPACK on teachers’ performance; 2) Influence the effect of motivation on teachers’ performance; 3) Influence the effect of TPACK on teaching ability; 4) Influence the effect of motivation on teaching ability; 5) Influence the effect of TPACK and motivation on teaching ability through teacher performance. The research subjects were 730 preschool teachers from Pontianak. The sample used were 258 teachers who were selected using random sampling technique. Data was collected using questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of Cronbach (TPACK 0.982, motivation 0.858, teacher performance 0.876, and teaching ability 0.965). The data was obtained using questionnaire with score range between 1-5. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics in order to describe TPACK scores, motivation, teacher performance, and teaching ability; and the Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method was done using 3rd version of SmartPLS software. The results show that: 1) there is significant effect of TPACK on teacher performance; 2) there is significant effect of motivation on teachers’ performance; 3) there is significant effect of TPACK on teaching ability; 4) there is no influence of motivation on teaching ability; 5) there is significant effect of TPACK and motivation on teaching ability through teachers’ performance.
