Abstract
This study aims to: (1) produce preclub-scout activity products in the form of a guidebook, practical books and decent story books to establish the independence of children age 5-6 years, and (2) the effectiveness of the product to develop the independence of children aged 5-6 years. This study was an R&D or research and development with ADDIE model consisting of 5 steps, namely: 1) Analyze, 2) Design, 3) Develop, 4) Implement, 5) Evaluation. The subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years or group B in Bimasakti Kindergarten. Data in the initial study were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Product validation was carried out by material experts and media experts, as well as responses from teachers. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample t-Test with prerequisite tests consisting of normality and homogeneity tests, i.e. multivariate normality test and covariance homogeneity test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of this study are a guidebook, practical books and storybooks to establish the independence of children aged 5-6 years. Those products are worth using based on the validation result of material experts and media experts with “very feasible” category. The value of t count = 20.006 and the paired sample t-test obtained the value = 0.000 <0.05, so that from the data obtained t count> t table. So, it can be concluded that there is an average difference on the children’s self- reliance between pretest and posttest. It can be concluded that there is an effect of implementing preclub-scout activities in building children’s independence. Children’s self-reliance can be built through preclub-scout activities with products in the form of a guidebook, practical books, and story books.
