Abstract

This study aims to: This research aims to: (a) Develop manipulative motion game guidebooks to improve gross motor skills of 5-6-year-old children, (b) Find out the Feasibility assessments of madia expert, material expert and teachers in developing manipulative motion game guidebook, (c) Determine the effectiveness of manipulative motion game guidebook on gross motor skills of 5-6-year-old children. The study was a research & development that adapted the ADDIE model with 5 stages namely analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the limited trial involved group B teachers in Pertiwi Kindergartens in Prambanan District namely 4 teachers in the limited test and 13 teachers in the extended field test. While the subjects of the product effectiveness operational test involved 12 group B students at the Pertiwi Taji Kindergarten. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, scale of product validation, and questionnaires of response. The data analysis used was the expert validity test using the Aiken test, reliability test with intra-class correlation (ICC), and paired t-test. The results show that: (a) The product of this study was in the form of an A4 sized manual with a portrait shape, containing 4 manipulative movement game posts to improve gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years (b) the result of the feasibility assessment of this product is based on the validation of media expert and material expert and it obtains appropriate criteria with a score of 92 media experts and material experts 104. Based on the result of the teacher's response questionnaire, this manipulative motion game guidebook obtains appropriate criteria with an average score of 99.75 material assessment and 76.25 media assessment. Meanwhile, in the extensive field test, the assessment of the material was included in the very feasible criteria with a score of 86.3 and in the media assessment it was included in the very feasible criteria with a score of 110.5. The results of the Aiken test also show that all items of the research instrument statement are valid. So based on the assessment of experts and the teacher's response, the manipulative motion game guidebook product is feasible to be used to improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years with various manipulative motion game activities. (c) The results of the effectiveness test show that the guidebook product is effective on the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years, as evidenced by the results of the Paired t-test which obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, which means the use of the book manipulative motion game guide shows an influence on gross motor skills in children aged 5-6 years. The conclusion of this study is that the manipulative motion game guide is appropriate and effective on the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years.
