Abstract
Penelitian mengenai identitas diri yang di alami anak adopsi belum banyak di lakukan di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pembentukan identitas diri pada remaja adopsi dilihat dari aspek eksplorasi dan komitmen yang dilakukannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah dua remaja adopsi yang berada pada masa remaja akhir atau berusia 18-21 tahun, sudah mengetahui bahwa dirinya diadopsi, serta masih berada di bawah pengawasan orang tua adopsi. Data diambil melalui wawancara yang kemudian dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Data yang didapat kemudian diuji keabsahannya dengan ketekunan pengamatan, triangulasi sumber dan metode, serta perpanjangan keikutsertaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan eksplorasi identitas kedua subjek berada pada in crisis, namun komitmen yang diberikan subjek BAT lebih nyata dibandingkan subjek RA yang cenderung kabur. Perbedaan ini dipengaruhi oleh inisiatif diri, pengalaman masa kecil, dukungan orang tua, serta tuntutan lingkungan sekitar terhadap identitas yang dipilih. Disamping itu, sumber acuan yang berpengaruh dalam proses pencarian identitas diri secara berurutan adalah keluarga adopsi, reference group dan keluarga kandung. Kata kunci: identitas diri, remaja adopsi The process of self-identity formation of an individual commonly happen at the stage of adolescence with various influences and consequences, the task of forming self-identity for adopted children is differed from the others as they must be integrating their adoption status into their self-definition. This study aim to describe the process of identity formation among adolescentse who were adopted based on the aspect of their exploration and commitment. The nature of the study is descriptive-qualitative. The subjects of this study were two adopted teenagers who are in their late adolescene or aged 18-21 years, already knowing the fact they were adopted, and still under guardianship of their adoptive parent. The data were collected through conducting interviews which were then analyzed by data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. Futhermore, perseverance of observation, data triangulation, methodological triangulation and extension of attendance were used to check the validity of the data. This research finds that identity exploration of both subjects are in crisis, but the commitment given by subject BAT is more real than the commitment of subject RA which rather vagueThe difference is influenced by self initiative, childhood experience, parental support, as well as the society's demands on the chosen identity. The adoption status of both subjects has no effect on the search of their self-identity because they have a positive view of their adoption. In addition, the most influential sources of both subjects sequentially come from their adoptive families, reference group and biological families. Keywords : formation identity, adopted adolescene
