Abstract
This research is aimed at developing English modules for guide trainees in Prambanan archaeological park to help trainees improve their listening and speaking skills. This is a Research and Development study which refers to ADDIE model. The subjects of this study were 32 guide trainees in Prambanan temple area. The instruments used for gathering the data were questionnaires and were analysed quantitively. Based on the analysis, a set of learning module that focuses on listening and speaking skills was developed. The module covers six units with different topics and objectives; they are: Welcome to Prambanan Temple!, The 1000 temples, It’s the greatest Hindu’s temple!, Enjoy the show, Let’s visit other temples, and Nearby tourism destinations. Meanwhile, each unit covers Getting Started, Listening (2-3 sections), Speaking (2-3 sections), Speaking Strategy, Did You Know...?, Sound Smart, Summary, Formative Assessment, and Can-do Checklist. The validation result shows that the developed learning materials and audio are appropriate because the mean of agreement is ranging from 3.50 to 4.00 on a 4-1 Likert scale-like.
