Abstract

Diklat (Pendidikan dan Latihan or Training) is one important element of four other elements of profession development in port folio assessment of the teacher certification. The implementation is through a series of vocational skill workshop in order to prepare professional competence certification for vocational teachers. With regard to certification of professional competence for teachers, LPTK (Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan or Institute of Teacher Education and Educational Sciences) as the most responsible institution for the teacher qualification is necessary to assist the preparation of the certification through a variety of competence development activities. Those activities are vocational skills workshops, refreshments and development of education and teaching learning process, as well as other academic activities that support Diklat of teacher competence. It is based on the spectrum of vocational education and KTSP (Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan or School Based Curriculum) The significance of Diklat facilitated by LPTK and the government agencies is to improve the teacher competence. It is suited with laws no.14 year 2005 and the Minister’s Decree No. 18 and 40 year 2007 that are expected to improve the quality and the strategy of learning process.
