Abstract
Writing of this artwork aims to describe the creation of batik motifs for men's shirts and technique motifs of batik shirts combination of lontar plants. The creation of this work of batik is through several stages in the creation of art, the stages are exploration, design, and embodiment. The stages of exploration is in the form of searched for reference and related with the uniqueness and formed it as an idea, the shirt patterns and techniques for making batik motifs for shirts combination. In the design stages is in the form of sketches design patterns, make patterns, apply motifs on the pattern of shirts. The stage of embodiment is the process of making works from the preparation of tools and materials, materials processing, the process of casting, coloring, lorot process, drying, to the stage of measurement and manufacture of batik shirts. The results of the creation of seven batik motifs applied to men's batik shirt, are namely: (1) Batik Nali, inspired by the form of palm leaves that have a philosophy that in social life we must always keep silaturrahmi among others; (2) Batik Petdong Bolong, inspired by the lontar leaves with a philosophy that we should as social beings which have to accept advice and listen to good advice from others; (3) Batik Kebut Cakar, inspired from the form of palm leaves that have a philosophy that we should as social beings leave a good impression on others; (4) Batik Kuntar, inspired from the form of palm leaves that has a philosophy that in life human should experience metamarfosis in a good direction; (5) Batik Maleh Apik, inspired by the shape of palm tree trunks that have a philosophy that do not easily give up when face life problems; (6) Batik Leyeh-leyeh, inspired from papyrus trees that have a philosophy that we should be grateful for the favors of God's creation; (7) Batik Banyu Ental, inspired from the water form of lontar fruit that has a philosophy to use our young age in good things.
