Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) produce an appropriate online career dictionary for junior high school students, and (2) to know the effectiveness of the dictionary of online career position in junior high school students. The type of research used was research and development (R & D). This research development procedure referred to the Borg & Gall procedure (1983). The research instrument used consisted of expert validation sheets, teacher response sheets, field test sheets and career exploration scale sheets. Research subjects on field trial amounted to 45 students, and the subject of effectiveness test amounted to 108 students. Data analysis technique used was quantitative descriptive analysis technique. This research produced: (1) a dictionary of online validation career title and suitable for junior high school student. Evident was from the test results of media experts who scored 51.00 (good category). Test results were 159.00 by material experts (very good). Teacher’s response was 103.33 (excellent), initial field test (46.26) (excellent) and main field test 46.56 (very good). (2) The online career dictionary was effective to increase student’s career exploration. It was proved by the t-test result with the posttest scores of the experimental group 148.370> 138.092 control groups with a mean range of 10.277.
