Abstract

Natural environment is the important literature for developing the child's ability. The efiRd's ability to interact with the natural environment is often called natural intelligence. The natural intelligence is the part of the multiple intelligence developed by Howard Gardner. The Center of the Earliest Child Educational Studies (PAUD),a Research Institutional of the UNY, in 2001 had started to campaign about the Multiple Intelligence concept among the pre-school educational teachers. According to this research, there wem found that the natural intelligence seemed to be a littlestimulated in the school activites programmes. This research is aimed to practice the kindergarten's teachers who had knowledge about the Multiple Intelligence to set the learning activities programmes facilitatingthis natural intelligence's development. The research approach was usingthe classroomactionresearch. The subject of this research are the pre-school teachers from TK Pembina, TK Nitikan, and TK Sulthoni Yogyakarta. The data collection techniques done in this research were observasion, interview, and documentation. The data analisys technique done was qualitative descriptive analisys. The qualitative descriptive analisys also used to describe how the behavioralimplementedinthe class. . In general, the teachers, subject of this research, had understood about the concept of the natural inteRigence. The teachers also generally had applicated this concept in learning activities. The teacher's stimulating models in this natural intelligence were watching the living things/natural environment, introducing the trees, introducing the animals, introducing several kind of vegetables, explaining the use of the natural thing, imitating the animal's behaviour, imitating the animal's sound, explaining the animal's characteristics, drawing animal, explain of the God's creatures. The result of this research showed that although the teacher had tried to stimulate the natural intelligence, this effort had not maximized in using the nature as the leaming resources.
