Abstract

This study objectives to examine and describe the operating of classroom management by English teachers in teaching English speaking in Luanprabag Teacher Training Faculty, Laos. A qualitative approach is used to explain and analyze the managerial process in this faculty. The framework of this study is formulated to classroom management aspects which are conducted by the English teachers of speaking. The data are collected through observation, interview, and documentation from 159 students and 3 lecturers. The validity of the data is obtained through study extension, ongoing observation, checking with the colleges through discussion and component checking. The data are analyzed simultaneously while the research process. The finding results show that the management of the classroom which is conducted by the English teachers of speaking is good and effective. This is noticeable from the planning that focuses in management of the classroom for the lesson progress of English speaking. The physical environment of classroom is used optimally, efficiently, and effectively. However, the teaching method and student behavior, expectation, classroom atmosphere required to be increased. Although, the lecturers are qualified and graduated from the well-known local or International University, but we cannot take an assumption that they are automatically capable in teaching effectively. Training, workshop, and discussions about the effective strategy in teaching and learning have to be realized regularly.
