Abstract

Teaching Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is developing rapidly. The number of BIPA enthusiasts grows in Europe, Australia, and Asia. A cooperative program with foreign partners which is very likely developed is transfer-credit program. UNY already cooperates with GDUFS in the activity, but improvement is still needed to maintain and advance the program. The aim of the pilot research is to examine a few things related to the needs of students, the analysis of BIPA learning module on the credit transfer program, and the possibility of developing cooperative research. The final goal is to strengthen cooperation with GDUFS as the partner in the field of research for the common good. This research used descriptive qualitative research. The result indicates that GDUFS students need dominant materials to improve speaking skills. Other materials such as listening, reading, vocabulary, grammar, and literature are also required. The integration of context and character of Indonesia also needs to be inserted in order to make them understand the culture and people of Indonesia. Therefore, there are opportunities for developing curriculum and BIPA modules for this program by integrating the context and character of Indonesia into it so that it will maximize the knowledge of Indonesia that will be acquired by GDUFS.
