Abstract

THE DEVELOPMENT OF BASIC DISPLAY ARRANGEMENT MODULE ON STRUCTURING AND DEMONSTRATING SUBJECT CLASS XI STUDENTS OF SMK 2 JEPARA By DESSY HARNANINGTYAS 08513241025 ABSTRACT This research’s goals are : 1) To develop the Basic Display Arrangement Module on Structuring and Demostrating Subject as a learning resource for Class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara, 2) To test the feasibility of Basic Display Arrangement Module on Structuring and Demostrating Subject as a learning resource for for 9th grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara. This research is based on Research and Development (R & D) method with the preparation procedures were in accordance with the model of development based on Borg and Gall that quoted in Puslitjaknov Team (2008:11). The stages of this research are product analizing, product developing, expert’s validation and revision, small-scale field trials, large-scale field trials and the final product. Persons who involved in this research are 5 experts, 10 students as small-scale field trials participant, and 74 students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara as large-scale field trials participant. The instrument used in this research is in the form of questionnaires. The technique that used for data analysis was descriptive analysis of the data consist of expert advice and data assessment which is then converted to a score with likert scale. The results of this research revealed that: 1) the development of Basic Display Arrangement Module on Structuring and Demostrating Subject as a learning resource for 9th grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara is using 5 stages of development, the stages are : a) analysis of the product, b) development of the product, c) validation expert and revision, d) small-scale field trials, e) large-scale field trials and the final product. 2) The feasibility of Basic Display Arrangement Module on Structuring and Demostrating Subject as a learning resource for class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara obtained from small-scale field trials on 10 students who indicated that each aspects obtaining an average score higher than 3.25 are : aspects of the functions and benefits with the score 3.33, module attractiveness aspect with the score 3.37, and the aspect of learning materials with the score 3.52. From that results, it can be concluded that each aspect earn very decent results. Then these are the results of the large-scale field trials on 74 students also indicated that each aspect with average score higher than 3.25 are : aspects of the functions and benefits with the score 3.36, module attractiveness aspect with the score 3.37, and the aspect of learning materials with the score 3.32. From that results, it can be concluded that each aspect earn very decent results also. Based on the obtained data, it can be concluded that Basic Display Arrangement Module on Structuring and Demostrating Subject as a learning resource for class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Jepara otherwise worth to be applied to the students.
