Abstract

Abstract Cooperative learning methods of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) was implemented in Mechanical Engineering Basic Knowledge (PDTM) subject at SMKN 1 Purworejo to improve learning motivation and outcomes. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles on 32 students of class X TPA. The instrument was questionnaire, test booklet, and worksheets. The motivation data obtained by questionnaires, analyzed by a Likert scale and then categorized based on each indicator. While, learning outcomes data obtained by test and then compared to determine the effect size as a learning advancement criterion. The result shows that learning motivation increased on each indicator. Learning outcomes improvement in PDTM subject shown on average score of 5,98 in first cycle increased to 7,40 in the second cycle. Implement effect of STAD also can be seen from the effect size that is classified in the very high category at 2,24.
