Abstract

This research is aimed at demonstrating the contribution of hand grip, vertical jump/explosive power, and coordination towards the learning achievement in flying shot in handball games of the students of physical health and recreation education study program semester II, academic year of 2004/2005. This research involved 43 students as the samples taken randomly. The data were analyzed using regression analysis with partial and whole correlation. The results of this research demonstrated that: 1) the contribution of hand grip towards the learning achievement of flying shot was not significant with the value of F reg = 4.073, bigger than F table = -.101 with the significance level of 0.05, 2) the contribution of vertival jump towards the flying shot was significant with the value of F reg = 4.073 bigger than F table = .041 on the level of significance of 0.05, 3) the contribution of coordination (side step) towards the learning achievement of flying shoot was not significant with the value of F reg = 4.073 bigger than F table = .914 on the level of significance of 0.05, 4) the contribution of hand grip, vertical jump/explosive power, and coordination together towards the learning achievement of flying shot was significant with the correlation coefficient (R-Square) 0.239 or 23%, thus it can be concluded that there was contribution of hand grip, vertical jump/explosive power, and coordination together towards the learning achievement of flying shoot but the contribution was insignificant. Keywords: handball, contribution, flying shoot
