Abstract

This study aims at developing Student Work Sheet using the Guided Discovery approach in the Analytic Geometry instruction and determining its quality. This study was a development research which referred to the Research and Development model of ADDIE which was through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. A product developed was in the form of Student Work Sheet (LKM). Data in this research were gained from field notes, LKM assessment sheets, and questionnaires on students’ response. Results of the research were as follows; in the analysis stage, the selection of suitable topics to be presented in LKM was done with the guided discovery approach including Coordinate system, line equality, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbole. In the design stage, components which should be in the developed LKM were gained involving title, identity, basic competences, apperception/ introduction to materials, activities, and exercises. This LKM was designed to facilitate students doing group discussion to discover a concept. In the development stage, the LKM preparation was done and continued with validation by experts and revised based on input from experts. The next stage was the implementation stage or limited testing. The last stage was the evaluation stage which was evaluations done on implementations and revisions of LKM based on input on the implementations. The LKM quality developed was valid shown from the aspects of validity and very efficient. Keywords : LKM, guided discovery, analytic geometry
