Abstract
CREATING A COMIC BOOK RELATED TO THE POLITENESS IN JAVANESE LANGUAGE AS A LEARNING MEDIA FOR SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS Arranged By: Vika Oktaviani 11205244035 ABSTRACK This research has three aims. The first aim is to describe the stages of creating a comic book related to politeness in Javanese language as the learning media for seventh grade students. The second aim is to explain the quality of the comic book as a learning media which is validated by the content expert lecturer and the media expert lecturer. The last aim is to explain the scoring from the Javanese language teacher and the opinions of the seventh grade students related to the quality of the comic book. This research is included into the Research and Development (RnD) type. There are five stages applied in this kind of research, (1) stage of analysis, (2) stage of media planning, (3) stage of creating the media, (4) stage of validation and testing, (5) stage of the final media. The first result of this product as a learning media should be validated by the content expert lecturer and the media expert lecturer until the media quality is good and feasible to be tested in the school. Furthermore, the scoring is conducted by the Javanese language teacher and it is tested to the class B – seventh grade students of SMP N 4 Yogyakarta. The data are collected by questionnaire. Moreover, the descriptive analysis is applied in this research for analyzing the data. The result of this research shows there are five stages in making the learning media. The first stage is the analysis toward the curriculum and the needs of the students. Media planning is on the second stage, in this stage the researcher collected the references and media design which was in the form of synopsis. The third stage is making the printed media. The next stage is the validation from the content expert lecturer and the media expert lecturer. After the media was revised based on the lecturers’ opinions as well as ready to be tested, then the Javanese language teacher conducted the scoring toward the media and it was also tested to the students. The last stage is concerned on the revision and the last product of the media. The score of the media quality based on the validation from the content expert lecturer shows the average percentage is 83.23%. In which it is categorized as the excellent. The validation of media quality from the media expert lecturer shows the average percentage is 79.07%; it is categorized as the good one. Then, the scoring which was conducted by the Javanese language teacher of SMP 4 Yogyakarta related to the learning media shows the average percentage is 100% and categorized as the excellent. Moreover, the result of the opinions of the class B – seventh grade students of SMP N 4 Yogyakarta as the user of the comic book related to the politeness in Javanese language as the learning media shows the average percentage 84.67%. Here, it is categorized into strongly agree. The final result of this research shows that a comic book media can be interested for the students and make them easier to study about the politeness in Javanese language.
