The subjects of this research study were 235 students of Physical Health and Recreation Education Study Program, faculty of Sport Science, Yogyakarta State University. The research instrument used in this study was in the form of opinier or behavior scales to identify the learning styles developed by DePorter. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis; the variance of the statistical analysis was in the form of frequency distribution and percentage. The results of this study show that more than a half of the students (56.84%) possessed the visual learning style, 12.63% of the students possessed the auditory learning style, and 30.53% of the students possessed the kinetic learning style. A few students tended to have not only one modality; they had combined learning styles consisted of 12 students were visual-auditory, 25 students were visual – kinetic, 7 students were auditory – kinetics, and 1 student was visual – auditory – kinetics.
