Abstract

This research is triggered by the poor accuracy of badminton smash shown by the students of SMP Pangudi Luhur, Yogyakarta who join the badminton extracurricular activity. This study intends to find out the influence of the target game in increasing the accuracy of badminton smash of the student in SMP Pangudi Luhur Yogyakarta, especially the members of badminton extracurricular club. This experimental study used a one-group pretest-posttest design with treatment as much as 12 times the pretest and posttest. The subjects were the students of SMP Pangudi Luhur, Yogyakarta who joined the badminton extracurricular club for about 20 students. The test accuracy was measured using an instrument capabilities blow smash by Saleh Elements (2010: 26-28) with 0.926 of criterion validity round robin tournament and reliability of the test-retest 0.97. The data were analyzed using t-test analysis and it had been tested for normality and homogeneity in advance. It is gained the t value with a significance value of 0.000 <0.005. The mean value of the results of the smash accuracy or pretest posttest accuracy is 29.35 while it increases to 33.90. It means that there is a significant influence of target games on the improvement of the smash accuracy done by the students of SMP Pangudi Luhur, Yogyakarta who join the badminton extracurricular club.
