Abstract

The objectives of the research were to evaluate how: (1) context; the school environment has significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program at SMKN 1 Bantul, (2) input; the teachers’ activities ,the availability of school’s facilities and the students’ activities have significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program at SMKN 1 Bantul, (3) process; the implementation of English learning and teaching of XI grade students at SMKN 1 Bantul has significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program, (4) product; the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program at SMKN 1 Bantul were significantly affected by the school environment, the teachers’ activities, the school’s facilities, the students’ activities and the implementation of English learning and teaching program This research was an evaluation study with quantitative approach which adopted the CIPP evaluation model. The population of this research were 420 students and it consisted of the entire grade XI students of SMKN 1 Bantul in the academic year of 2012/2013. The sample were 210 students in grade XI and it consisted of 15 students each class. The techniques used to analyze the data in this research were descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The research of the context reveals that school environment has significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program, the judgment can be made that the responses about the environment in which the program is implemented is seen as positive. The research of input reveals that: (1) the teachers’ activities (x1) have significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program and are included as moderately effective, (2) the availability of school’s facilities (x2) are included effective, in spite of the facilities have not significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program and, (3) the students’ activities (x3) have significant effect on the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program and are included as moderately effective. The research of the process reveals that the implementation of English learning and teaching (x4) has significant effect on the goal achievement English learning and teaching program and is included as moderately effective. The research of product reveals that the goal achievement of English learning and teaching program has been significantly affected by the teachers’ activities, the students ‘activities, the implementation of English learning and teaching program and school environment, and is included as moderately effective, based on the average score of variable which is 113. 2.
