Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the increase of cooperative learning and students’ understanding towards Problem Diagnose Competence in Operating PC and Peripheral in class XB of Computer Engineering and Network Department of SMK N 2 Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The method used in this study is Class Action Research, a research done to monitor the action and behavior of research object to achieve or change the nature of the research object towards the intended direction. There are four stages in this research: (1) Planning, included arranging the observation sheet, learning plan, cooperative group learning, evaluation question and preparing observation instrument; (2) Treatment, which applies Cooperative Review method in the study of Problem Diagnose Competence in Operating PC and Peripheral in class XB of Computer Engineering and Network Department of SMK N 2 Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta; (3) Compiling and Monitoring Data in which the observation is done to monitor and gather the data about the increase of cooperative learning and learning understanding of the students based on cooperative learning and learning understanding indicators; (4) Reflection, aimed to reflect on the result of the research towards cooperative learning and learning understanding of the students as the correction of research result in each cycles. The application of Cooperative Review Method is successful in increasing 89, 93% of cooperative learning and 96, 88% of learning understanding. With ≥75% successful criteria, Cooperative Review Method is appropriate to be applied in the study of Problem Diagnose Competence in Operating PC and Peripheral.
