Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a messenger applications such as Messenger Translator Applications. Then test the feasibility of the application as an application that makes it easy to translate language or translator in chat communication. The application is developed using Java programming language and integrated with Google Translate API. The function of the Google Translate API as a language translator automatically in the messenger. This study uses research and development method. The steps of the method requirements such analysis, design, coding, and testing. Alpha testing performed by 2 expert software engineering. While beta testing conducted by the respondent as many as 16 students. The analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative analysis techniques. Quantitative descriptive is used to declare the results of the calculation in the form of percentage viability. The results of the analysis showed that the Messenger software Translator Application is valid in terms of correctness and reliability. In alpha testing, software earn a percentage of 90% in terms of functionality and 85% in terms of usability. While proprietary software, according to the user by 89.69% from 83.45% in terms of functionality and in terms of usability. Keywords: application, messenger, translator
