Abstract
The objectives of this development research were (1) producing a group of counseling guidelines based on self-management techniques to reduce the academic procrastination behavior of junior high school students and (2) producing a group of counseling guidelines based on self-management techniques that were suitable for reducing the Junior high school students' academic procrastination. This research was a research and development (R&D) by Borg and Gall which includes: preliminary research and information gathering or preliminary studies planning activities to be carried out, developing initial product drafts, testing early-stage products, revising trial results. initial field trials, main field trials, revised main field trials, and final products. The preliminary study was carried out by interviewing 3 junior high school guidance and counseling teachers in the city of Baubau. The data analysis technique was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively using assessments by media experts, material experts and practitioners or guidance and counseling teachers and to determine the feasibility of a guidelines based on the validation of media experts, material experts and practitioners or guidance and counseling teachers The results of this study indicated at: (1) the guidelines was made in color, A4 paper size, 120 gram art paper type, the cover uses the hard cover type, and has a flat character design illustration image (2) the behavioral group counseling guidelines based on self-management techniques is very feasible to reduce the academic procrastination behavior of junior high school students because it gets the following scores: media experts scored of 96% categorized as "very good or very feasible", material experts scored of 78.26% categorized as "very good or very feasible" , and the main field trials obtained a value of 90’21 categorized as “very good or very feasible”. Based on the results obtained from media experts, material experts, and guidance and counseling teachers, it can be said that the behavioral group counseling guidelines based on self-management techniques is "very feasible" to be utilized reduce academic procrastination behavior for junior high school students
