Abstract
This study aimed to determine whether there was a difference in student achievment. Purpose of the study is to diagnose the damage television. The research was limited to the cognitive achievement of students. Type of quasiexperimental study with a pretest-posttest design. The population in this study 57 students TAV XII SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The sampling technique was purposive sampling and the sample is 18 of grade XII TAV 1 as a class experiment given the diagnosis of damage to the television media applications and 18 from class 2 as class XII TAV controls with conventional media with chalk board. To test the hypothesis in this study is used the Independent sample T-test. Based on the analysis was done found that the cognitive significance value was of 0.00. p <0.05, it can be concluded that significant differences in student achievement in the cognitive domain of students.
