starting teaching learning process at junior high school. As we know that, students come
from different families and environments background. These forms influenced their
characters into adulthood, so it is necessary to know their characters. The goal of this
assessment is the character of each student can be identify in the begining when students
entry the school, so the teacher can understand how to treat each student in the class based
on their character. The Character identificationof each student is done by assessing the
character of the new students who entered SMPK Generasi Unggul Kupang. Character
assessment conducted by a test, either in writing or by interview. The result shows that each
student has a different character and its influeced by their relation with their friends and also
teachers. In addition, the teacher was able to understand the character of each student before
continuing the learning process even further. Teachers can prepare specific measures as the
approach to each student. Teachers can evaluate the character development of each student
regularly. This study will support the implementation of the curriculum 2013 that emphasis
on the balance in learning, so the achievement is not only determined by the academic point

terhadap Peningkatan Power Tungkai Pesilat Remaja Putri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian
eksperimen dengan rancangan “two group pretest - posttest desaign” dan teknik pengumpulan
data menggunakan tes dan pengukuran.
Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah pesilat Tapak Suci di Cabang SMP
Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta. Sampel pada penelitian adalah pesilat remaja putri di Cabang
SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 20 pesilat, yang diambil secara purposive
sampling dengan ketentuan umur 14-17 tahun, yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok dengan teknik
Ordinal pairing, sehingga setiap kelompok berjumlah 10 orang. Instrumen dan teknik
pengumpulan data menggunakan tes standing board jump menggunakan alat ukur meteran yang
telah ditera. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis inferensial.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada peningkatan power tungkai pada pesilat
remaja putri yang mengikuti program latihan depht jump modification. Pada kelompok yang
diberi perlakuan latihan depht jump modification mempunyai pre test 146,3 cm dan post test
155,1 cm. Hal ini menandakan bahwa latihan depht jump modification mengalami peningkatan
sebesar 8,8 cm. (2) pada kelompok yang tidak diberi perlakuan atau kelompok kontrol terjadi
penurunan sebesar -4,4 cm karena mempunyai pre test 148 cm dan post test 143,6 cm. Sehingga
terbukti bahwa latihan depht jump modification dapat meningkatkan power tungkai pada pesilat
remaja putri.
