"This study aims to: 1). find leadership management models in each Islamic\r\nreligious college; 2). find a proper and effective leadership management model\r\napplied in Islamic religious colleges; 3). find factors that hinder and support\r\nleadership management in Islamic religious colleges, and 4). find out the factors\r\nthat shape leaders in Islamic religious colleges.\r\nThis study uses Exploratory sequential mixed methods. Data are collected\r\nthrough observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The validity\r\nof qualitative data is measured by the extension of observations, the persistence of\r\nobservations, triangulation, and checking. Qualitative data analysis includes data\r\nreduction, data presentation, verification and conclusions. Meanwhile,\r\nquantitative data is supportive of qualitative data.\r\nThe results showed that: 1) The leadership management model at Islamic\r\nReligious Universities shows the implementation of leadership elements. The\r\nacademic community clearly formulated and understood the vision, mission,\r\ngoals, and objectives. Recruitment and placement of human resources according\r\nto their field of expertise. Infrastructure and financing are carried out with budget\r\nadjustments and independent business. The application of leadership styles and\r\ncommunication patterns is flexible and transparent. The leadership model as a\r\nleader in the provision of direction to subordinates to run the program. 2). An\r\neffective leadership management model to improve performance in the Islamic\r\nReligious High School is a leading management model that applies management\r\nprinciples, namely: (a) Planning; (b) Organizing; (c) Actuating; and (d)\r\nSupervision (controlling). 3). Factors inhibiting leadership management in the\r\nIslamic Religious High School include the slow realization of the vision, mission,\r\ngoals, and objectives, low performance of human resources, limited budgets and\r\ninfrastructure utilization, accessibility and adaptation to changes that have not\r\nbeen optimal. 4). The factors that make up the leadership of the superior Islamic\r\nReligious Higher Education Can be identified with the output of having met the\r\npattern of determining, implementing, evaluating, controlling and improving the\r\nprograms of Islamic religious universities."^^ .
