Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 27 siswa kelas V SD Negeri Sonosewu. Desain penelitian yang digunakan mengacu pada model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang berlangsung selama dua siklus dan terdiri dari beberapa tahap, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi, tes unjuk kerja, dan dokumentasi. Sementara teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif\r\nkuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) kegiatan guru dan siswa selama proses pembelajaran menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas proses pada tiap-tiap indikator di setiap pertemuan dengan perolehan nilai hasil observasi kegiatan guru sebesar 70,83 pada siklus I menjadi 89,58 pada siklus II. Sedangkan, nilai hasil\r\nobservasi kegiatan siswa pada siklus I sebesar 58,95% menjadi 95% pada siklus II;\r\n2) hasil tes unjuk kerja menulis karangan deskripsi mengalami peningkatan pada\r\nsetiap indikatornya didukung dengan adanya nilai rata-rata kelas yang diperoleh\r\npada siklus I sebesar 72,63 dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 82,36; serta 3)\r\npresentase ketuntasan klasikal siswa meningkat sebesar 61,11% pada siklus I\r\nmenjadi 81,24% pada siklus II.
