Namun, metode pembelajaran konvensional sering kali menghambat perkembangan keterampilan ini. Dalam konteks pesantren, nilai-nilai pendidikan tradisional dapat diintegrasikan dengan teknologi modern untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang adaptif dan interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan penerapan inovasi pembelajaran adaptif menggunakan media interaktif augmented reality (AR) dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas pada siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) dengan pendekatan berbasis pesantren. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengembangan media menggunakan model ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) dengan pendekatan Multimedia Development Life Cycle. Tempat penelitian di SMK AR-Rahman Bantul, SMK Al-Munawwir Yogyakarta, dan SMK Smart Al-Muhsin Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru, calon guru, dan siswa SMK berbasis pesantren. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan tes serta melalui wawancara dan observasi. Analisis data menggunakan system usability scale dan user experience questionnaire. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan inovasi pembelajaran adaptif dengan media interaktif AR efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreativitas siswa SMK. Dalam kelompok eksperimen, terdapat peningkatan dalam kemampuan menganalisis, mengevaluasi informasi, dan menghasilkan solusi kreatif dalam berbagai konteks. Selain itu, guru, calon guru, dan siswa menunjukkan respon positif terhadap penggunaan teknologi AR dalam proses pembelajaran. Temuan hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan konsep integrasi pendidikan agama dan etika dalam pembelajaran AR yang adaptif, teori AR-YS transformative learning, dan model pembelajaran kolaboratif berbasis AR (CoLAB-AR) untuk meningkatan berfikir kritis dan kreatif dalam konteks pesantren.
