Berdasarkan hambatan belajar tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengkaji proses analisis prospektif untuk merancang desain didaktis untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan resiliensi matematika siswa SMP; (2) mengkaji proses analisis metapedadidaktik terhadap implementasi desain didaktis untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan resiliensi matematika siswa SMP; (3) mengkaji proses analisis retrospektif terhadap implementasi desain didaktis untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan resiliensi matematika siswa SMP; dan (4) merancang desain didaktis empirik dan menghasilkan teori pembelajaran lokal (local instructional theory/LIT) untuk mengembangkan kreativitas dan resiliensi matematika siswa sekolah menengah pertama (SMP). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian desain dengan metode penelitian desain didaktis, yang meliputi tahap analisis prospektif, analisis metapedadidaktik, dan analisis restropektif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP di Kota Yogyakarta, Kabupaten Sleman, dan Kabupaten Bantul, Provinsi DI Yogyakarta. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru SMP di ketiga kota tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan angket serta melalui studi dokumen, observasi, wawancara, dan rekaman audio visual, dan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan multimethod dengan menggabungkan analisis dari beberapa data, baik secara kualitatif maupun kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa desain didaktis berdasarkan teori situasi didaktis secara empirik dapat mengembangkan kreativitas dan resiliensi matematika. Tahapan desain didaktis tersebut meliputi pemberian situasi didaktis berbentuk masalah matematika terbuka di awal pembelajaran, yang dilanjutkan dengan aktivitas belajar melalui tahap situasi aksi, formulasi, validasi, dan institusionalisasi.
