Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sequential exploratory mixed methods, dan dilakukan dalam dua tahap: pertama, dilakukan penyelidikan dengan metode kualitatif, kedua, dilakukan penyelidikan dengan metode kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 2.827 siswa, sedangkan sampelnya berjumlah 350 siswa. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan angket serta melalui wawancara, observasi, focus group discussion, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah reduksi, display, dan verifikasi, serta triangulasi data. Validitas isi melalui spread judgment, uji konstruk melalui uji CFA, dan kecocokan model fit: (1) Chi Square, (2). P-value, (3), Root Meand Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA), dan (4) Goodness of Fit Index (GFI). Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t melalui analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Kultur sekolah yang dibangun oleh warga SMA adalah kultur akrab dinamis (positif) dengan pendekatan kultural-partisipatoris dan membuktikan antara kultur sekolah dan mutu siswa memiliki hubungan yang kuat. (2) Komponen yang berkonstribusi terhadap kultur sekolah dan mutu siswa adalah persepsi, sikap akademik, sikap sosial, kegiatan pembelajaran, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, tanggungjawab guru, dan kedisiplinan. (3) Faktor yang mempengaruhi kultur sekolah adalah sikap akademik, sikap sosial, dan kepemipinan kepala sekolah. (4) Aspek PKS, KAS, KSS, KP, KKS, DWS dan TG, secara mayoritas berpengaruh positif terhadap kultur sekolah, yakni memiliki dorong yang kuat terhadap perkembangan kultur SMA negeri. (5) Aspek PKS, KAS, KSS, KP, KKS, DWS dan TG, secara mayoritas berpengaruh negatif terhadap mutu siswa, yakni memiliki daya dorong yang lemah terhadap perkembangan mutu siswa. (6) Kultur sekolah memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap mutu siswa. (7) Kultur sekolah mampu sebagai mediator atas pengaruh PKS, KAS, KSS, KP, KKS, DWS, dan TG terhadap mutu siswa.
