Di konteks sekolah dasar Indonesia, penelitian literasi belum banyak membahas isu relasi kuasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode etnografi kritis untuk menggali informasi terkait apa dan bagaimana pengajaran aspek konten, konteks dan praktik pendidikan literasi di sekolah dasar secara apa adanya. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru dan siswa kelas 1, 5 ,4 dan 6 di SDN Sumber 1 Berbah. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi, wawancara kelompok dan analisis dokumen. Untuk keabsahan data, peneliti menggunakan triangulasi dan member check.
