Jenis penelitian ini adalah research and development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Terdapat dua jenis subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu subjek uji coba instrumen dan subjek uji coba produk. Subjek uji coba produk dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Pemilihan sekolah berdasarkan kritera perankingan oleh kemendikbud dengan kategori sekolah tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Adapun sekolah yang menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah Islamic Boarding School Ihsanul Fikri Muntilan Magelan, Abu Bakar Boarding School Kulon Progo, dan MA Miftahunnajah Sleman. Subjek uji coba instrumen menggunakan teknik stratified proportional random sampling sehingga diperoleh total 240 siswa yang berasal dari tiga sekolah sampel. Subjek uji coba produk terdiri dari 118 siswa kelas XI jurusan IPA dengan rincian 52 orang siswa sekolah tinggi, 32 orang siswa sekolah sedang, dan 34 siswa sekolah rendah. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi lembar wawancara, lembar validasi dan kelayakan produk, soal tes literasi data dan informasi aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor yang dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara despkriptif dan statistik inferensial.
