TY - UNPB Y1 - 2022/08/16/ N2 - This study aims to: (1) build podcast-based audio media that are feasible for increasing the academic efikasi diri of SMP Negeri 2 students in Mlati Subdistrict, Yogyakarta and (2) determine the effectiveness of podcast-based audio media for increasing academic efikasi diri of SMP Negeri 2 students in Mlati Subdistrict, Yogyakarta. The type of research was Research and Development (R&D), according to Borg and Gall (1983), which comprised nine stages, included research and collects information, planning, developing initial products, initial field testing, major revisions, main field trials, revisions to ready-to-operate products, operational field trials, and final product revisions. The research conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Mlati, Yogyakarta. 6 students participated in the initial field trial, 20 in the main trial, 50 in the operational trial and 20 in the effectiveness test. The research used a questionnaire assessment of media experts, material experts, and students, as well as academic efikasi diri ratings, results were collected. The paired sample t-test was used to analyze the data, which was previously done with the shapiro wilk normality and homogeneity tests. The assessment's findings indicate that: (1) Based on the results of the validation by media and material experts is highly feasible, initial field trials with very excellent criteria, major field trials with very good criteria, operational field trials with very good criteria and (2) According to the effectiveness test findings, there is a difference between the pretest and posttest outcome, with the pretest scoring 93.95 and the posttest scoring 99.50. With a significance level of = 0.05, determines that tcount was 3.964 based on the findings of the analysis of the hypothesis test for the effectiveness test. These results imply that tcount is bigger than ttable, as shown by the result 3,964>2,093, because tcount?ttable has a significance value (p-value) of 0.001<0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The t test findings show that students' academic self-efficacy grows, implying that podcast-based audio media is effective for improving students' academic self-efficacy.
