%L UNY73883 %K interpersonal communication, self-confidence, psychodrama %X Interpersonal communication and self-confidence are part of the developmental tasks of students, so students are trained to have high interpersonal communication skills and self-confidence. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of psychodrama techniques through group counseling services to improve student interpersonal communication and self-confidence. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test post-test design. The study was conducted at Muhammadiyah Middle School Pakem Sleman, Yogyakarta. Determination of the sample in this study with a purposive method that is 10 students of class VIII who have low levels of interpersonal communication and self-confidence. Data collection uses a scale of interpersonal communication and self-confidence that has been tested for validity and reliability. Each scale gets an alpha value of 0.957 and 0.936, the value is greater than the coefficient value of 0.70, these results indicate that the scale is standardized to be used as a research data collection tool. The data analysis technique used was non-parametric statistics through the Wilcoxon test and the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study showed that psychodrama techniques were effective in improving students' interpersonal communication and self-confidence. This result is proven by the results of a comparison of the post-test scores which show a value of 0,000 <0.05, which means that there are significant differences in post-test scores.
