%A MUFTIAH AZIZI HADIYATI %X This study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of modeling techniques to increase learning motivation and reduce academic procrastination of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri (State Junior High School) 3 Sleman. This study was an experimental research with quasi-experimental design. The form of design used was a model of non-equivalent control groups pretest and posttest. Samples were 11 students chosen by purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using the learning motivation and academic procrastination scales. Instruments were tested for reliability using the Cronbach Alpha formula. The test with Cronbach Alpha resulted the reliability coefficient on the learning motivation scale of 0,867 and on the academic procrastination scale of 0,838. Data were analysis technique applied was the N-Gain Score. The results of the study show that the modeling technique is effective in improving learning motivation and reducing academic procrastination of grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Sleman. It is evidenced by the mean of the N-Gain Score learning motivation score showing that the experimental group gets 0,59 which is higher than the control group getting 0,10.
