%L UNY73871 %X The objectives of this study were to: (1) see the effectiveness of rational emotional behavior therapy (REBT) techniques to improve interpersonal communication, and (2) to see the effectiveness of rational emotional behavior therapy (REBT) techniques to increase the confidence of seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Yogyakarta . This is experimental research. The research used a quasi experimental design. Meanwhile, the design used in this study was the Time- series design. The sample in this study were 7 students who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used was a scale of interpersonal communication and self-confidence. The instrument reliability test used the Cronbach alpha formula. The data analysis technique used was non- parametric statistics with the Wicoxon Match Pair Test. The results showed that there were differences in the results of interpersonal communication in the experimental group before (M = 71.72) and after (M = 104.29) were given treatment (p = 0.018 <0.05).
